“Use your Star Power to light the Observatory beacon.” Bring Rosalina’s lost child home!
Rosalina’s Cosmic Icecap fits in with MP1 styles. Still, it draws heavily from Super Mario Galaxy and even gives Rosalina a classic N64 look.
The board’s design is a simple loop around the Observatory with two branches off a “main” path (though it doesn’t resemble one). The farther paths lead to Chance Time Spaces and two Boos.
The Observatory Lumas participate in many events:
Launch Star: Yellow Lumas are in one of four “Luma Spaces” (extra Star Spaces). If you pay 5 coins, the Luma will become a Launch Star and randomly send you to another Luma Space or Start. It speeds travel and may be worth it if the Star follows another Luma Space! It’s also useful for skipping to a Boo. Note: Press A or B on the message window to pay or not pay.
Pull Star: Blue Lumas near Happening Spaces transform into Pull Stars and warp opponents to those spaces!
The Happening Space near the Red Luma gives you Red Star flight, letting you travel to a rival’s space. The space’s effect may activate again when you land, depending on the type!
Green Star: Green Lumas give Green Star gifts when Happening Spaces are nearby. 40% chance of 20 coins, 40% of 30 Star Bits, and 20% of a Star!
Happening Spaces near Star Bit clusters give you 3–13 Star Bits. You’ll trade your Star Bit stash for coins when you pass one of the three Starshroom ships, even though they may seem useless! Sometimes it helps to cash out on extras!
Finally, Happening Spaces near Ice Flowers blast your character with cold air, losing 6–12 coins.
