After solving the millennium riddle, Yugi decided not to accept seven valuable items because its responsibility made him feel a bit under pressure. Unexpectedly, people are so greedy that they want to seize those sources of power to rule the world. Dark Being Reshef, who is trying to revive three cards of the Egyptian god, wants to immerse the world in darkness and turn humans into his slaves. Although it is quite late, Yugi realizes that there is still a chance to fix his mistake. A race to find seven items has happened, he must adventure across every continent of the world to find the people who are holding them, and defeat Reshef before it becomes too late.
Domino City is the first place to play. It recurs the opening of the plot, provides the necessary instructions as the ultimate goal to be achieved is to collect seven items of the millennium riddle to revive the three cards of the Egyptian god. Essential information and clues will be provided at NPCs. Players need to fulfill missions and defeat mighty enemies to get them. In it, the first hint is that the Millennium Necklace item can be found at the Egyptian exhibition, held by Keeper. Regarding cards, they are divided into two main types: attack and effect. In particular, the effect cards will add attack points, defenses, and fighting skills for the warriors to deal damage to the enemy. The classes are designed in the form of a circle, which means each will have different strengths and weaknesses to be exploited. However, there is a somewhat distant difference from previous versions when it is possible to destroy a card immediately, depending on its factor, although the stat points may be higher.
Regarding the battles, the system will provide 8000 points LP in default for each character. They will be destroyed in case of the LP level is empty, or the Leader card is surrounded by monsters. It is organized in a 5×2 grid and in the form of Turn-based. Each time, it is the player’s choice to move his warriors on the grid or to use the effect cards. The later, the difficulty will increase as it will focus more on the ability to organize tactics. If you know what each element is capable of or can make a prediction about your opponent’s moves, winning is only a matter of time. After the story, another mode of Hall of Eternity will be unlocked. It includes the most powerful opponents of the Yu-gi-oh universe.
