YU-GI-OH! – 7 TRIALS TO GLORY – WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT 2005 continues the story of Yugi Mutou on his journey to explore the world, along with his natural talent when solving the millennium riddle. By chance, when he was passing by the city of Domino, a big event of the 5th world championship tournament got his attention. This held him back, and once again, his desire to be a champion rose. However, this tournament did attract all of the masters in Duels, which made Yugi feel difficult. One other thing is that the person behind and organizing this tournament is still a mystery. Some pieces of evidence that Yugi gathered all pointed out that this mysterious man had an unrighteous plot as trying to build an army to invade the world.
YU-GI-OH’s! – 7 TRIALS TO GLORY” has a gameplay of trading cards. In which players will use cards to fight against enemies to destroy their LP clock and collect DP points. In particular, the default LP level is 8000, which can be understood as their vitality. After defeating 8000 LP of the opponent, the player will win, and vice versa. Meanwhile, DP is like a kind of bonus unit used for many purposes, such as buying cards or locks. Depending on the activity and level, the gamer will receive different DP after dealing damage or destroying an opponent’s card.
In this version, there are 1000 cards at all, including three types: Monster, Spells, and Traps. Of course, each of them will play a different role in the battles. While Monster performs attacks, the other two types are capable of providing ATK, DEF points, as well as giving magical powers. Overall, they can be seen as each different character when they are able to fight, can be killed, and can level up each time after gaining experience points. The battles in the game are highly tactical, taking place in turn on a 7×7 grid. They will end if one of the two sides runs out of LP points, or the “leader” card is surrounded by enemy troops.
Domino City not only has a championship tournament, but also own many other events, including Card Shop, Weekend, Kaiba Corp, Limitation, The National, and Survival. Although there are differences in the rules, it is commonly organized quite simple that focuses more on entertainment and benefits. They are quite related to each other. For instance, when players win Weekend, Rex Raptor, Weevil Underwood, Mako Tsunami, and Mai Valentine, the Kaiba Corp will also be unlocked with the prize that can be received up to 31,000 DP.
