Do you want to take part in these fierce and “no mercy” matches? The pinnacle of wrestling matches on TV can now be recreated through “WWF No Mercy.” This game was developed by Asmik Ace Entertainment and AKI Corporation, posted by THQ for this Japanese Nintendo 64 devices. This version also marked the end of the series of wrestling games from famous for “WCW Vs. The World” producer. Like other versions, the game supports both single-player and multiplayer modes.
WWF No Mercy is recreated after the No Mercy annual event organized by the World Wrestling Federation. Many people will probably think that a game revolving around tough, sweaty wrestling matches on rings like this usually won’t have a certain plot, but, the truth is quite unexpected. The name WWF No Mercy has seven storylines corresponding to each individual tournament. The number of characters in the game will probably make many people surprised when it reaches to the number of 60. If the players create their own characters, it will be more. The maximum number of players that can be created is eighteen with custom stats and appearances. It even can be women.
The gameplay of this version does not seem to have a breakthrough too far compared to other wrestling game versions, such as WrestleMania 2000. And actually, it is no different from the playing style of the actual matches. Attack, grasp the opponent by hand, and then wrestle. For example, for those to fall backward or forward, players will need to use the navigation button on the handset. By continuously attacking the opponent, the meter “Attitude” will raise the index. The higher the index is, the greater the possibility of a pinfall will appear. And especially when the meter is fully charged, the opponent will surely be struggling, even killed through its critical damage. At Smackdown Mall, players can unlock new costumes, arenas, new characters, and other in-game features. And of course, to do this, the game requires the player to pay a certain amount of in-game money, which can be earned from defeating opponents in the Championship mode. These people are either the professional competition or the defending champions last season. Another way to make money is by overcoming matches in survival mode.
