Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III: The Manhattan Project is the 3rd installment of Konami’s famous series of games. This version was released in Japan on December 12, 1991. A year later, the North American version was released on December 14, 1992.

In this version, the four main characters are Michelangelo, Donatello, Leonardo, and Raphael are on a trip to Key West, Florida. During the holiday, they saw a news report by April O’Neil. However, her program was interrupted by the appearance of a familiar evil – Shredder. He informed the ninja warriors that the Manhattan district of New York City would be turned into an island in the sky. Besides, April O’Neil was kidnapped as a hostage and challenged the Turtle ninjas to defeat him.

Like the previous two versions, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III: The Manhattan Project offers 2 game modes of 2 players or single combat. To defeat Shredder and other evil allies of Foot Clan, you will be selected 1 of 4 main characters to control and fight. In addition, each character of the game will be equipped with a different weapons system. From there, each character will have unique attack skills. However, special attack skills require the use of a character’s vitality to activate. Therefore, you need to choose the right times and make reasonable calculations when using special skills. In case your vitality is already low, you should avoid using this skill. Besides, the 2-player mode is also designed with 2 separate features for you to enjoy. The first feature, which allows two players during a battle with an enemy to cause damage to each other. With this feature, the game requires the player to focus and limit attacks on allies. Next, the second feature will restrict the first feature and ensure the vitality of the two players is not affected by the attack skills of allies. From there, you can freely play with your allies and still be able to complete the challenge.

The game’s battle system is designed with 8 levels. In addition, you will discover many different areas.
