Star Fox 64 (Lylat Wars) Info

Star Fox 64 is a version specifically designed for the Nintendo 64 system and is also the only version of the Star Fox series to be released this kind of device. The game is a reboot of the original Star Fox version, belongs to the scrolling shooter genre of Shoot ’em up. Designed in 3D, the game promises to bring the most realistic battles. Both single-player and multiplayer modes are supported in this version.

The game is set in outer space, revolving around shooting down enemy aircraft or obstacles that appear in the opposite direction. The main character in this story is a red fox named Fox McCloud, who is also the leader of the Star Fox team to protect the Lylat system. Meanwhile, the main antagonist of the game is Andross, a scientist with great ambition to destroy almost completely the planet Venom.

Throughout the game, there will be two main modes, “Corridor Mode” and “All-Range Mode,” in which the first mode appears more frequently. In Corridor Mode, players will control their battleships over a distance. However, this distance will not be easy to overcome when there will be many obstacles and enemies ahead. Move to avoid those obstacles, and shoot down enemy aircraft. If you want to increase the damage, compress your energy to create the most powerful laser shot. If the speed of your vehicle is too fast or you cannot keep up with the pace of the game, reduce your speed. However, stopping is definitely not possible, and of course, you cannot control your vehicle in the opposite direction. As for All-Range Mode, it appears more sparsely, usually where bosses take place. Initially, the Arwing spaceship will default to your vehicle. However, later, the Landmaster will also be unlocked if you collect enough medals needed. Both have unique abilities in addition to the usual movements. The Arwing can turn upside down, make a “U-turn”, detecting the enemy’s fire. Meanwhile, the Landmaster has the ability to accelerate quickly or put battleships on hover state. And especially, there is also a Blue-Marine for the battles in the ocean.

In multiplayer mode, up to four players can play at the same time. Particularly in this mode, players will immerse themselves in battle royale battles with the bazookas on hand, be it competing against each other or possibly destroying enemies.
