RR64 – Ridge Racer 64

It’s another game for speed enthusiasts, Ridge Racer 64. As the name suggests, the game belongs to the racing category. This version was developed by Nintendo Software Technology and published for Nintendo 64 by Nintendo. It belongs to the Ridge Racer series, which was the first version not released in Japan. Both single-player and multiplayer modes are included in this version.

This racing game does not have a clear story or context but simply revolves around the fierce race on the roads. The main playing style of Ridge Racer 64, in general, is not much different from its predecessors in the series. It is a fast-paced, arcade-based mechanic, giving players exciting and lively rhythms when just joining the game. Beautiful drifts can also be created in this game. Tracks can bring a bit of familiarity to the player when they are brought from both Ridge Racer and Ridge Racer Revolution. However, there are also new race tracks that are brought, with a desert background, known as “Renegade.”

The game integrates four main game modes. One of them is the Grand Prix, also is the tournament mode, in which you have to complete racing tracks fastly to be the first one to reach the finish line. Quick Play is a mode that allows you to play any route you like, with eleven AI-controlled opponents. Car Attack is a place where you can unlock new cars, by reaching the line before that car. In addition, a multiplayer mode is also integrated into this game with the maximum number is four. However, the more people play, the lower the FPS and graphics it will be.
