The events of Newer Super Mario Bros. Wii are continued in the sequel, Newer Super Mario Bros. DS, which takes place after those events. Bowser Jr. abducts Princess Peach once more shortly after the Mario Bros. and Peach return from their vacation on Yoshi’s island, which forces Mario to leave to go and rescue Princess Peach. As Mario travels through the seven worlds (and possibly a hidden world), he eventually arrives at Bowser’s Castle. There, he engages in battle with Bowser and is rewarded for his efforts by freeing the princess.
