In the age of technological development, artificial intelligence and robots are no longer strange. But also for that reason, many conflicts occurred, included the most fierce battle between Earth Alliance and space organization ZAFT. They want humans to evolve with robots by making genetic modifications to become “Coordinators,” but this is strongly opposed. At that time, five Gundam squad robots were developed to become the protection force of the Earth. However, four of them were stolen by ZAFT, leaving only Strike Gundam with the talented young Yamato. It is the last hope to fight the evil forces as well as free people from extinction.
If you think that this long and thrilling story of “Mobile Suit Gundam SEED: Battle Assault” will give us an RPG game on the Platformer, then you are wrong. It is just simply designed with the same fighting genre as Mortal Kombat Advanced. This brings a balance in the fight, including solo performances. You will play as Yamato to control your robot, with the goal of defeating all of the enemies from ZAFT. From the time you start playing until the story is closed, the enemy will be stronger with the wish to extinguish the flame of peace that burns in your heart, although there are Gundam stolen team members among the enemies. The game does not have elements like levels and upgrades similar to the role-playing genre, but in another way, collecting and unlocking costumes will make the robot improve its ability. There are all 12 types, some of which offer special combat techniques or give physical damage-absorbing effects to protect the life energy bars that are gradually decreasing. However, not only include the benefits, but you also have to trade in something, maybe reducing damage or speed.
In general, the support items are only a small part. To win, most of it depends on the player’s skill. If it is impossible to dodge enemy attacks or find his loopholes/weaknesses to exploit, then it will be difficult for you to pass the stage. In addition, there are some other modes such as time challenge, or 2vs2 mode through connecting to 4 GBA devices. They are considered as part of the entertainment of this game. If you can harness it, you will get lots of fun.
