The skeleton key doors in the middle of the board add a fun little gimmick to the otherwise fairly conventional board layout. The player circles the islands counterclockwise by following the arrows on the path (once you cross a bridge, there is no turning back). However, the player has the option to skip two islands by using a skeleton key to jump to the other half of the island from the central island. As a result, skeleton keys are highly sought after on this board. The player can choose whether or not to be carried to any other player’s location for 10 coins when Plessie emerges from the water as a result of happening spaces.
