Castlevania: Portrait of Elegance (New Portraits Hack) Info
Castlevania: Portrait of Elegance is one of two games that make up Castlevania: Choir of Redemption, which aims to give Dawn of Sorrow and Portrait of Ruin proper gothic artwork.
In order to maintain consistency with the franchise’s overall artstyle and to keep up with other contemporary depictions of the main characters, such as those seen in the most recent releases of Harmony of Despair and Grimoire of Souls, the main focus of Portrait of Elegance is a graphical hack for Portrait of Ruin that aims to do away with the generic anime-like artstyle that plagued 2/3 of the NDS Castlevanias.
The artwork used in this hack includes both original artwork and reworked artwork from various sources that is based on Ayami Kojima’s work, as well as official artwork for games that were released after Portrait of Ruin.
Character portraits from the game, HUD portraits, and icons with anime-like graphics were the only things that underwent graphical changes.
