Bomberman 64 is a game of the action-adventure genre from developer Hudson Soft. The game was published in Japan by Hudson Soft itself, while in PAL region, it was released by Nintendo. The game is one part of the Bomberman series. At the same time, this version also marked an important step when it was the first game to own 3D graphics in the series, which was the basis of the later games.
The story of the Bomberman 64 takes place in the context of a planet called Planet Bomber. It was probably a very peaceful place where the people living there lived in harmony. However, this peace has been broken since the event a strange fortress landed on this planet with an army of outer space pirates. It is known that Artemis is the leader of this group. He possesses a destructive weapon called by the name Omni Cube. Its power is truly unmatched when it could draw the planet’s energy, which players will be able to see when entering the game for the first time. Having conquered the previous four worlds successfully, the Planet Bomber is the next target these pirates are aiming for.
By joining the game, players will transform into the hero Bombermagn in defence of his planet, Planet Bomber. However, he will not have to fight alone, when Sirius will appear on his journey and become his ally. Throughout the game, players will need to overcome challenges set at five primary locations: Green Garden, Blue Resort, Red Mountain, White Glacier, and Black Fortress. In particular, the first four anchors can be selected and played immediately without having to follow a sequence at all. Each place will have four stages, including two adventure screens and two bosses, alternating. However, in Black Fortress, the second phase will be a battle between Bomberman and the chief guard in the second stage, and for the final boss, Altair is in the fourth stage. There are 100 golden cards all scattered throughout the game, with five for each step. After collecting those 100 cards, a new place, Rainbow Palace, will be opened along with 20 new cards. Only when that number of cards is collected, can the new mini-games in multiplayer mode be enhanced with more diverse numbers, and in particular, the cheat option.
